Some things I saw this weekend, further proof that my life is not like most people’s:
- a guy
in rockabilly clothing walking down the freeway with a guitar. Not a guitar case, a guitar. When I was driving back later, he was
just strumming and singing his heart out, serenading the hot asphalt.
- A
drag show well before dark that featured full facial hair. I love camp drag.
- A
puppy/Master contest, which I can’t write about without sounding like I’m
making fun of it, which I would never do.
I totally respect these guy’s right to act like dogs on all fours
and bark. If that does it for you,
then that’s great.
- I
THINK I saw Paul Teutul, Jr, the very gifted (and sexy) star of American
Chopper on the Discovery Channel.
I’m not 100% sure it was him, but I’m about 98% sure. And, um, rowrrrrr
- At
the Harley Davidson dealership in Austin, there were cars and bikes parked
down the feeder, and they had set up a little carnival for all the
bikers. If parking hadn’t been a
bitch, I would have gone and mingled, because it’s all about the human
experience, right?
- Did I
mention that it was biker’s weekend in Austin, and thousands of bikers
were in town? Yeah, there were,
and it was wonderful.
I spent most of Sunday not feeling well, so I was home all
day. I missed the gathering of the
Austin Journalers, which I hate to do.
I know that everyone was talking about ThreeWay Action’s demise and what are
we going to do now and of course, I didn’t get to gossip about anything. I don’t know what I’ll do without my gossip
time this month. Maybe we should have a
make up meeting for me, or something. I
guess the JournalCon committee members will be able to fill me in when we meet
this week. I hope so. I’m so type-A, I hate to be out of the loop.
If you look over to your right, you will see a new addition
to the sidebar that gives you an opportunity to sign up for a notify list. This is all well and good, except that I can’t
make the form work properly (or even at all, really), and I wasn’t going to
stay up past one in the morning to make it work. I imagine I’ll get it going sometime this evening. Maybe.
I'm definitely a bad judge of the Yowza quotient here... but did you happen to catch that Discovery launched a new show called Monster House? Yep! It's the unholy union of "While You Were Out"/"trading Spaces" and "Monster Garage" Bunch of burly men doing home decorating? hmmm... Of course, you have to accept that the stuff they are building is incredibly tacky... for example, last night's episode featured a Race Car theme... The kitchen island was replaced with an automechanic's toolbox, the ceiling fans were running off exposed belt drivers, the kitchen table was an inverted car hood, the bed was put on airbag suspension, etc... Still fun, regardless... but the Jesse James of this show doesn't have the same attitude (or balls or don't-give-a-crap-ness) of the REAL jesse.
Yay on the Teutul love!
And, oh, damn, how could I forget the Discovery Channel's other major cutie, Jesse James?!
Oh MY! I just so a commercial for next Monday's Monster House... It's a Tiki theme... I mean... come on! Could it BE any more perfect for ya?
I NEVER miss an episode of American Choppers and I'm not really into bikes. I am, however, into Paulie! He is the finest man on tv! Love the voice, body, dimples and his overall calm and cool attitude :)
Paulie is the hottest natural thing on TV at the moment...he can eat crackers in my bed anytime...
